An article by Edsurge discusses how freshly graduated teachers, many of whom were entering the workforce for the first time, were completely taken aback by the pandemic. These teachers were all excited to begin the 2019-2020 academic year, eager to see what it would bring. However, none of them could have expected a global pandemic forcing all the realities of school to be suddenly changed and flipped upside down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of the teachers who were beginning their first year of teaching said they had begun to get the hang of teaching in their first semester. But the second semester brought a global pandemic with it which resulted in the teachers having to restart and learn everything again. Along with this pandemic, student-teacher relationships have suffered, as it was more challenging to engage with the students through online learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not all bad news, however, as these teachers said that it was reassuring to know they were in the same boat as more experienced teachers, as most of them had never taught online either. This allowed the freshly graduated and more experienced teachers to form a connection with each other.
